Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in a high poverty area and are in a school environment in which they would benefit from learning about bullying.
My students are enthusiastic third graders, who enjoy hands-on activities and read alouds.
They enjoy reading books at the library and enjoy participating in classroom discussions. Some of them, at this early age, have experienced bullying in school and are willing to share their feelings about bullying with their classmates.
My Project
I am requesting three copies of the book, Bullying in Schools and School and Bullying to encourage reading in my classroom, but at the same time educate my students about the harmful effects of bullying. When students are excited about learning and are successful in school, they are likely not to participate in bullying. This is why I am requesting other materials to be used during math and to encourage my students to work in pairs/groups and learn in fun ways. With the Beat the Clock! Carnival Math Game, Subtraction/Addition/Multiplication/Division Facts Practice Boards and Math Blaster CD ROM, my students will practice their facts in a fun way. I can display their work with the
Magnetic Display Clips and give them a sense of pride to see their work displayed in our classroom. The Heavy-Duty Paper Trays will give them a place to turn in their completed work. The, Beat the Clock! Sight-Word Practice Boards will help them learn and practice their sight words.
My project is so important because it will educate my students about the harmful effects of bullying and provide other important classroom supplies.
I hope to keep the books for years to come to continue educating my future students about bullying through literature.
