Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What about me? There are so many great books out there, but some are really easy for children to relate to and teach them about themselves. I call these books, "All About Me" books. I teach a bilingual Pre-Kindergarten class. One challenge I am encountering is finding these books in Spanish.

I have a bilingual Pre-Kindergarten class with 15 Spanish speaking children.

My students make my day everyday. They are sweet, smart, and caring. They love to look at books together. Through books, I try to show them that we are all different and special. We have many ways of communicating, such as through language, gestures and facial expressions. They have an open mind toward people that are different from them, and are trying very hard to speak English as well as Spanish.

My Project

These books will help my students learn the words they need to express themselves. They will help my students understand themselves more. Books that teach students about their feelings, family, and traditions in Spanish are hard to find, so these books will definitely be a treasure.

Support young children to understand their feelings and traditions.

These books will spark language and conversation in Spanish and English. Learning two languages at such an early age will benefit them tremendously in the future, and you can be apart of that.
