My Students

Welcome to my 21st century classroom! Long gone are the days of sitting quietly with a text book and a pencil. We are in a moment where students are actively engaged in activities that promotes collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Most importantly, technology rules!

My 19 students come from diverse backgrounds.

There are students who arrive knowing a lot of information; some who come in knowing very little but all of them are eager to learn. Some of the students come from low-income homes where their only option to use technology is in the classroom. I don't want to let my limited technology resources stand in the way of giving all my kids the opportunity to grow in a 21st century classroom.

My Project

My students need 4 Nabi Jrs. My students will be using Nabi Jr. in many areas of academics both independently and collaboratively. We will use them during our "listen to reading" station of Daily 5, math centers, small group lessons, self-directed literacy centers, research for science activities and vocabulary practice for my little ones who are learning the English language for the first time. The tablet is easy enough for small hands to hold and manipulate. It comes with built-in apps and stories that are ready to go for my students. It also has internet capabilities so we can access the county's database of audio books and exploratory websites.

Using the tablet will not only help students learn and practice academic skills, but it will also build their confidence.

The Nabi Jrs will provide my students a fun and creative way to practice academic skills. It will give students the advantage they need to succeed in their generation.
