My students need a new classroom rug that fits everybody comfortably, to enhance student learning.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All kindergarten students need a comfy place to sit, learn, sing songs, and read books. My classroom has a rug, but it is too small to fit everyone comfortably and it is very old! Please help me create a more engaging and inviting classroom by donating a rug.
My students are excited five and six year old children, who live in an inner-city neighborhood in Illinois.
Our school is like a little safe haven in a community with a lot of challenges.
Outside of school many of my students are faced with worries daily about the next meal they will eat and safety in their homes. I want to make sure when they come in the door to my classroom they feel welcome, comfortable, and at peace. A brand new rug will help out a lot!
My Project
A brand new large rug will give us many opportunities to meet as a classroom comfortably to learn and socialize. We will use the rug for our morning meetings, library center, writing, math, and science lessons, and playing blocks. The rug is 9 feet by 12 feet, which gives plenty of space for my students to not have to touch other students while they are doing these exciting learning activities. This will ensure their ability to pay attention closely to all learning and not get distracted by others around them.
This new rug will really make a huge impact on my classroom environment.
It will give us the space we need to do many important learning activities, and will help my students feel comfortable and welcome in my class.
