A typical day in first grade is full of movement! We like to stay active to keep our brains fresh! We love to use our bodies to help us learn. We use white boards and erasable markers a lot to help us build, spell, and read words. These are great, but using an iPad would be a first for many.
My students come from a very small community.
The students here are full of energy and are very eager to learn. However, many are not given the opportunities to experience new things. Our school does the best we can to provide opportunities at school to broaden their horizons, given the financial resources that we have. We are a small community, but a very loving community.
My Project
In our classroom, we would love to use an iPad to help us learn. We will use it to practice building and reading words. We would use our iPad as a tool to practice handwriting and even fine motor skills. The iPad will provide us with so many apps to help with sight word recognition, reading fluency, and much more!
Donations to this project will make the first grade classroom a classroom that is relevant to the rest of the world.
Technology is so important to our future generations. They will use technology for the rest of their lives and they need to be using it now as well. An iPad for our classroom will not only benefit the students today, but our leaders tomorrow!
