Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Keeping up with the changing times...that's what we are trying to do. So many times technology changes much faster than the educational budget allows for. It is impossible to keep up. We have been using a listening center that is so old with many wires that the kids don't which plug is which.

My students are active Kindergarten students from a variety of backgrounds.

Many have never had the chance to put on a set of "listening ears" to hear a story being read or music played. Since we firmly believe that listening is an important skilled leaned in early childhood, we are hoping to improve the listening skills with these updated materials.

My Project

This wonderful wireless listening center, CD player, and extra listening headphones would make listening much easier for our five year old students. The tangled cords that are old and what we use now would be replaced with no cords! "Just think class, NO WIRES!" said Mrs. S. This would also allow students to be able to listen from their desks that are not by the center if needed, since the listening range can be moved throughout the room. Not being tied to one place would also be advantageous for special needs students who need to "move and wiggle" more than others.

Supporting this project would bring an updated style of learning and listening to our KinderKids.

Learning to listen is a great skill that is taught early on in life and part of the curriculum needs in early childhood education.
