Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Young students may be "digital natives," but they need guidance in order to use technology in a way that fosters critical thinking and solves sophisticated problems.

My fourth grade students come from a rural, low-income area of Northern California.

We are considered a Title I school as the vast majority of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We have a very high percentage of ESL (English as a Second Language) students and most children do not have access to digital tools at home.

My Project

I am requesting two iPad minis in order to engage students with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) subjects and begin a makerspace in our classroom. A makerspace is a place for students to design, create, and explore! These iPads will be used in a variety of ways, some yet to be discovered! Right now, they will help us learn to code by programming robots called Ollies and Spheros. They will provide an opportunity to practice photography, videography, and animation. They will even be used to create musical compositions! iPads are the window to 21st century learning, and the possibilities are endless!

Your donation will provide our students with a chance to learn in an exciting, hands-on environment, and will prepare them with all the Future Ready skills they will need in our technologically advanced world!
