This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how you felt when you first heard about the iPad? The iPad isn't just a fun toy, but a learning tool that offers thousands of educational apps and resources to help students be successful in school.
My school is a small Title 1 school where a majority of my students qualify for the reduced/free lunch program.
Many come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Most are English language learners, speaking English as their second language. The use of iPads and visual learning tools is especially helpful for these students. They are eager to learn and excited to work with technology!
My Project
For children, learning without visuals can be very difficult. With the iPads and appleTV we can share different educational apps and websites with the whole class all at once, or have children work with apps on the iPads in small groups. The iPads can be used for listening centers to help them become more fluent readers. This technology will help tremendously as the educational games help make learning fun.
It thrills me to request new materials for my students.
I can already see the excitement on my students' faces as they sit down and work with the iPad apps, or as they follow along with the whole class as we do a lesson projected on the screen. My students will become better at reading and math and ready for the future, because THEIR future is NOW! Thank you for your consideration in supporting my project.
