This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students are excited and eager to learn. I would like to have all of my students reading on or above grade level by the end of the school year. Some students do not have the same access to technology as their classmates.
I work with groups of students who need extra help with literacy instruction.
These students are energetic and ready to learn, however, they face challenges because of lack of resources. The school is located in a suburban neighborhood. For every general education class per grade level, there is a special education class for each grade.
My Project
Students will use the 2 iPads to access literacy apps, listen to audiobooks, and to access Internet literacy websites. I want students to work on vocabulary development, phonics instruction, writing development, and fluency. All of these things can be accomplished by using the various apps and websites on the iPads.
The donations will improve my classroom because students will have access to resources that they do not have at home.
Some students need the visual of the iPads to help with their learning and development as a reader. The students will become computer literate and have the ability to grow as readers.
