Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom will focus on learning life-skills through creative play this year. I am creating a "Makerspace" for my students. Here they will create and explore. In order to use coding robots and create presentations we will need classroom iPads.

Many of our students don't have access to digital tools at home.

Most students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Using the SAMR model, our teachers and trying to go beyond the basic uses of computers. We have Chromebooks at our site and the problem is that some applications are only accessible on the iOS platform.

My Project

This iPad will be available in my classroom anytime there is an app that the students want to use that is only available on the iPad. My students will be able to create better stop motion videos and green screen scenes using the iPad. For example, recreating scenes from their favorite books they read- instead of a book report on paper! Students will use the iPad to make video tours of the classroom and create movies that summarize what they have learned. The possibilities are endless.

My classroom will be much more efficient and productive with an iPad that is always accessible.

If we are working and find that the app we want is only available on the iOS platform, it will be readily available to us. This iPad will help ease that need.
