My Students

Our classroom has only 2 student computers. Putting technology into the hands of my first graders is of the utmost importance in our growingly global and interconnected world.

My first graders attend a public elementary school in Northern California.

Our school is one of four TK-5 campuses in our town. We are focusing on College Readiness this year and will be working really hard to achieve our learning goals! We are all eager to learn and explore together.

My Project

My students need an iPad Mini to allow for hands-on lessons and to transform the way they learn. iPads can make a great learning companions for students. With the right kind of apps paired with traditional teaching, my students will be able to achieve more than they have been able to in the past. Everything students do on the iPad provides immediate reinforcement, which isn't always possible with one teacher and 24 students. Students have the ability to progress at their own speed. As a teacher, we are asked to use more technology in the classroom, often times without being provided with the appropriate materials or resources. When given the opportunity to use the computer or my personal iPad for learning activities, my students are excited and engaged. The learning then becomes more internalized and more meaningful.

Donations to this project will allow my students to interact more with technology on a daily basis.

The iPad Mini will also allow me to make learning more personalized for each individual student.
