Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of the students that attend my school are faced with financial hardships. The availability of supplies is low and these supplies would be extremely beneficial to their learning and engagement.

My students are high school chemistry students that come from all different backgrounds.

Many are unable to fund their own school supplies. This notebook project is to foster activity and interest in chemistry while furthering their conceptual understanding of the subject.

My Project

Art supplies, such as crayons, colored pencils and scissors, will help my kids reflect on lessons and visualize and articulate chemical processes. By having this alternative to chalkboard/lecturing, they will be able to stimulate different learning techniques to fully understand the material.

These donations will allow my students to engage in a project that encourages critical thinking and creativity which is often inhibited by textbook-teaching.

Reflections and other activities for the notebooks will enhance their learning experience and retention of subject matter.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
