This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever found it difficult to express yourself with just a paper and pencil? I want to give my kindergarteners the tools to express their thoughts creatively in all subject areas.

I love teaching 22 curious kindergarten students.

Our school is a Title I school, and more than 98% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have any books at home. The majority of my students have not been read to before starting school and do not have current technology in their homes. They also have not had the opportunity to express themselves through art.

My Project

I am requesting a wide variety of art supplies such as crayons, tag board and glitter. These materials will allow me to incorporate art in all core subjects during our kindergarten day. The children will be able to recreate their favorite part of the wonderful book they just experienced or create shiny, sparkly AB patterns in math. The possibilities of what the children will be able to create are truly endless.
