My Students

My students need to learn about the wonderful and rich cultures of the native peoples of California. What better way to kick of this unit than reading the wonderful children's story, The Indian in the Cupboard?

My students are diverse, eager, and interested students who love to learn new things and especially about different cultures.

Every year we have a multi-cultural festival at our school and I would love to teach a unit to my fourth graders about Native Americans from our wonderful state of California.

My Project

I am requesting the book The Indian in the Cupboard along with several teacher guides and other Native American books to teach and inspire my students. We will be able to enjoy this rich story as the kick-off to our unit on the native peoples of California.

This project is fundamental in students' basic understanding of our history as a nation and especially our history here in California.
