In Need Of 1st Grade Technology Tools!

My students need a Promethean Activslate 60 and a document camera for technology rich lessons in our classroom.

My Students

Technology in the classroom is now at a critical point in society. As educators, we should be able to offer more technology rich lessons to all students daily. With a Promethean ActivSlate and document camera, I know I could do just that.

Currently, I am teaching 1st grade after spending many years as a 4th grade team teacher.

At this time, like my students, I am learning as I go. As you may imagine, my 6 and 7 year old students are a constant bundle of energy who love using technology tools. Our PreK through fifth grade school community of 500+ students is one that offers a lot to our children in terms of parental involvement. Our school is one in the district who strives for technology resources in our classroom. Each year, we have school tech campaigns to try and help ourselves gain more for our students. This year, we are hoping we can get help with this group.

My Project

I know that utilizing an ACTIVSLATE 60 tablet, in conjunction with my Promethean Board would help me as a 1st grade teacher. While connected to the Promethean Board, I could move around and bring the tablet to my students during student and teacher guided lessons originating at the Promethean Board. At this time we, as a school, have no ActivSlates, but many of us would love to integrate interactive lessons using them. I know in 1st grade, this would be a huge asset for group or whole class lessons. I am also very interested in a document camera that could help with reading, math and science lessons. Often, we work with experiments and have to gather together to view the results, however, often missing tiny details. With a document camera, I would connect it to the white board and project it for all to see clearly as well.

I would love to offer positive interactive tools that offer powerful lessons to my students.

I am asking your help bringing an ActivSlate, as well as a document camera to my 4th grade classroom. We hope you consider our class for a donation.
