This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you were able to get lost in?

My students are special education, as well as academic intervention students in New York City.

They are all extremely bright and are just in need of the right tools that will allow them to excel in English Language Arts. Can you be that person to help them?

My Project

I am requesting books that are leveled so that students can read books that are "just right" for their reading levels. The multiple levels requested will allow students to have the necessary resources to move up to a new level once they have mastered their starting reading level. I am requesting a class set of leveled books from first grade through fourth grade.

This project is important because reading is the foundation to a great education.

Students need to be able to be smart readers by decoding words, asking important comprehension questions, and addressing inferences that they can make from the text.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
