Do you remember what is was like the first time learning was no longer frustrating? My students face daily challenges due to their disabilities. These iPad minis are going to provide my students with the technology they need to become successful independent learners.
My students are wonderful students in a self-contained elementary special education classroom for students with autism and social communication needs.
In this classroom, we celebrate students' unique, individual learning styles and unlimited potential for learning.
My Project
The iPad minis I am requesting for our classroom will be used in multiple ways. My students will be using the iPads to learn to read, write, and use supplemental apps that support our reading, math, writing, and science curriculum. In addition to the academic content being learned, the students will be working on learning appropriate social skills, not only through the use of different autism and social skills apps, but through sharing and working as partners with their classmates.
This project is important because not only will it provide technology to the classroom, it will provide my students with a hands-on way to work on learning independence skills, as well as academic content, all of which will help them become even more successful learners and students.
