My Students

Relationships, love, and social injustice are just some of the themes covered in Hunger Games. This novel captures the imagination and is a page turner that cannot be put down.

Students that attend our academy love the arts.

They are creative and use their imaginations on a daily basis. They come from all different social, economic, and racial backgrounds but are unified together by the arts. Our school is a middle school and high school dedicated to offering world-class training in music, theater, visual arts and dance, along with a rigorous academic program. It is a charter school that is in its second year of operation.

My Project

With these books students will be able to study a novel together as a class. They will be introduced to new themes and be able to take part in rich discussions of plot, characters, and the lessons taught throughout the book. Students will complete a cumulative project where they will create a a poster and commercial showing the themes they learned from Hunger Games.

Your donation will give my students the opportunity to look at issues and discuss themes that aren't included in our short story anthology.

Students will have the unifying experience of reading a novel with their classmates and will be able to discuss it for years to come.
