My students need center activities such as Hot Dots that works on their phonics skills for RTI time.

My Students

My students are in need of some language arts intervention activities that are fun and engaging. They do not need more worksheets; they need a more appropriate method of instruction to master the language arts standards.

My school, like all schools across the nation, have had many budget cuts.

We are still very committed to the students and want to offer the most engaging, enriching environment possible. The students are typical kindergarten students, full of enthusiasm and a desire to learn. They love center time and RTI time because of the developmentally appropriate approach. No worksheets! There are 26 students in the class, so there are 26 different levels of understanding and abilities. The Hot Dots would provide for the difference in abilities and provide the practice and enrichment the students need. Each child would be able to work at their skill level without the activity being noticeably different from their friend's activity.

My Project

The Hot Dots Phonics Flash Card set will help the students practice important skills while they have fun. The Hot Dots cards are coded so that the magic wand only responds to the correct answer. The children will look at the phonics card and put the Hot Dot wand on the correct answer. The wand then rewards the student with a beeping sound. This is a fun and engaging way to practice phonics skills.
