Hey, Let's Watercolor!

My students need great supplies, like paints, brushes and paper, to do projects in watercolor.

My Students

Do you remember when you had to watercolor on thin paper and your watercolor ran all over the paper and onto the floor? I want my students to have good watercolor paper, brushes and watercolor so they will not experience this kind of defeat or any other watercolor defeat.

My watercolor students are PreK-3rd grade who have a keen desire to paint.

Since we get little money for our projects (about $1.50 per year, per child)it is difficult to provide these dear cross-cultural students with quality supplies. I feel that when students have great supplies they can create better artwork because they don't have to put up with materials that don't work, which is frustrating. I want to give these students every advantage in the visual arts as any other students in more prosperous school districts.

My Project

The watercolor supplies that I am seeking will enrich the lives of my students by showing them what good art supplies can do. If they want to spread the paint they can, on good paper, and if they want to use brushes that have points, they can achieve that by using the sumi watercolor brushes. The sumi brushes can be used to study Japanese culture and the drawing of calligraphic characters. The students, using these sumi brushes, will be able to achieve thick lines and very thin lines; washes and line drawings. With the liquid watercolors, the watercolor will go farther than palette watercolors because you only need a few drops to last all day, maybe even all week. And the colors of liquid watercolors are dazzling. I want my little art students to experience this rather than worn-out messy palettes.

The main reason I am asking for these watercolor supplies is so that these impoverished students can experience new, wonderful supplies that are top-notch.

I don't want them to get yet another worn out box of watercolors and 'make do,' but rather they experience authentic watercolor paper, authentic watercolor brushes, and easy-to-use, economical and beautiful watercolors. My students deserve the best.
