My Students

Imagine a class of hardworking students quietly concentrating and working at their desks when, SCREEECH, CRUNCH, GRIND, EERRRGGGHH, our horrid old pencil sharpener stops them dead in their tracks. HELP! We need to sharpen in silence!

I teach 21 second grade students in a diverse school in Brooklyn.

They are a great group of kids and eager to learn. Unfortunately, due to the current economic crisis and slashed budgets, we don't have the supplies they need to do the work they want to do. My class loves dancing, writing, our sock monkey collection, listening to stories and learning about art.

My Project

With a new, heavy-duty, quiet pencil sharpener, my students will be able to write to their hearts' content without fear that a broken pencil will prevent them from completing their work or their art work. My students definitely can use more pencils and erasers as well.

With these materials, my students will have the supplies they need to participate in fun and engaging projects.

They will also be able to be prepared for work at any time without disturbing their classmates in the process. Please invest in my stupendous students!
