My Students

Do you remember what it was like to read a book in class and have the book falling apart in your hands? Paperback books have a very short shelf life and are falling apart in my students hands. E-readers will give our books a longer shelf life and put modern technology in their hands.

My students are learning in a Title 1 school where a majority of them are free/reduced lunch.

It's a public charter school where the class sizes are small and their is a family atmosphere. My students are kids who didn't fit in at the local public school and needed a different option. Here, we celebrate each students individuality and gifts, working with their learning styles to get them to mastery in all subjects.

My Project

E-readers will change my students life for the better because it will bring classic novels into the 21st century classroom. I plan on using these resources to do group reading activities with my students. Using the E-readers they will be able to use technology to work in their literature circles.

This project is very important because it shows students that reading and technology go together.

Technology is our future, and we need to provide students with as much technology as possible. Technology is a huge incentive for at-risk readers and advanced readers alike.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
