This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students hear the music. Do you remember the first time music touched your life? Do you remember how it made you feel? Our programs are getting cut every year, so I'd like to make every moment with my students count. You could be the one to help inspire a child with the sound of music.

My students are from a high poverty area.

We are a public school in NY with a very large number of students. Music is an area that many of my students excel in. For many of my students English is a second language It is becoming more difficult as our population grows. My students are fun loving children, with a lot to worry about at home. I am happy to provide them with a place free of worry. It's a place for them to feel joy and happiness.

My Project

This xylophone makes it possible for my students to stay engaged with learning. They will be able to explore sound and be creative. This xylophone will provide generations of students the opportunity to express the music within themselves. Getting my students involved in music keeps them invested in school and helps attendance.
