Help! My Students Need Calculators

My students need 50 scientific calculators when they take their state assessments.

My students are struggling to achieve the state goals in math. They are working very hard. They attend math workshops in the morning, afterschool programs, as well as Saturday school. Whew.

We have pushed our 5 year old calculators to the limit. Now, there are not enough calculators to go around. In addition to normal where and tear, students want to use the calculators outside of my classroom. This breaks my heart. What can I say but yes when a student asks to borrow a calculator to do homework assignments, or to take an entrance exam for high school. I know I need to monitor the calculators so I take some responsibility for replacing the calculators. That is why I am writing this grant.

Students need their own calculators. They need to be able to take their calculators with them as they transition between classes and programs. They need to have access to their calculators to complete homework assignments. Finally, they need calculators that they are comfortable and familiar with when they take their state assessments.

Please fund us. Everyone needs to have the tools and supplies they need to be successful and to be able to replace or repair that equipment when needed. My students are working very hard to met and exceed standards in math. If I am funded, I too, will donate 25 calculators because that's all I can afford. We need your support. Thank you very much for your consideration and for reading my proposal.
