"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." (Albert Einstein)
Our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math students are highly motivated, competitive learners. Help take their award-winning work to the next level with new technology.
Our STEM students are motivated and innovative learners, routinely capturing county-level science and engineering fair awards, and competing at regional and national robotics competitions, despite their often limited resources.
These students are a diverse group of learners, coming from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds, and having varying degrees of access to technology outside of school.
My Project
I am a high school librarian collaborating with an innovative and caring teachers to extend learning through technology. The library is the learning commons of our school -- where diverse learners come together to work together creatively and collaboratively. This MakerBot 3D Printing Bundle will be the cornerstone of a new makerspace in our library, where students will experience hands-on independent learning, and apply STEM skills gained in the the classroom. STEM lessons, skills, and designs will come to life for students, as they print their 3D creations. 3D printing will give students the opportunity to see and feel their onscreen designs in the real world. Students will be able to test, evaluate and refine their designs, giving them practical career experience unavailable in schools just a few years ago.
The technology field is fiercely competitive.
My award-winning students have excelled with the limited technology they have been provided, but they need help moving to the next level. Please help me give my students the hands-on experience and competitive edge this technology will bring.
