I am an elementary school teacher who strongly believes that when technology is implemented properly, it significantly enhances the learning environment and provides students with skills they need to be successful in today's society.
We are a group of approximately 24 fourth graders in a public school in North Carolina that love learning new things!
We come from a variety of backgrounds and are discovering how to work and learn together as our classroom launches BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) this year. We really enjoy exploring new knowledge through technology and are looking for new, safe ways to continue to do so! We thank you in advance for your help and support!
My Project
My classroom is launching BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) this year. Students are invited to bring in devices that can connect to the internet (laptops, tablets, cellphones, etc.) to enhance the learning experience. While this is an amazing opportunity, I know that not all of my students have access to a personal device that connects to the internet. With the fulfillment of this project, I will be able to provide 4 iPad minis for my students to use during the school day. This will put unlimited resources at their fingertips and they will learn skills they need for the rest of their lives!
Putting technology in the hands of my students greatly increases their interest in learning. There is a sense of ownership and the students become more invested in the entire learning process. As a teacher, one of my main goals is to create life long learners. YOU can help me do this!
Proper use and integration of technology within the classroom significantly enhances the learning environment and gives students skills they will use their entire lives.
