My students need a Hear It! Say It! Practice Center to learn to say the alphabet, letter sounds and rhyming words independently.

My Students

"I can hear it and I can say it, too". Those are the words that I want to hear from my children. My children come to kindergarten lacking language skills, but with the Hear It! Say It! Practice Center and Hear Yourself Headphones they will be able to practice letter sounds and words independently.

I teach in an elementary school that is very economically disadvantaged with over 90% of the children qualifying for free or reduced lunches.

Many of our children are from single parent homes, and we are experiencing a growing number of homeless families. I love coming to work everyday and seeing those smiling little faces soaking up all that I can give them. I want to be able to say at the end of the year,"You are ready to move on to first grade."

My Project

It is so important to develop the necessary language skills at an early age. If children do not learn to say and recognize the alphabet, know letter sounds, and be able to say rhyming words independently they will not be ready to move to putting that all together to read. With the Hear It! Say It! Practice Center and Hear Yourself Headphones my children will be able to practice saying the alphabet, hear and say letter sounds and rhyming words. The Hear Yourself Headphones will allow my children to hear themselves talk so they can focus on every sound they say. With the Practice Center and the Headphones my children will have the foundation to go to the next step, which is putting it all together to become a reader.
