Our community depends on us! I am a teacher in a rural, high-need community high school.

My students are in charge of interviewing, writing, and capturing the news and events of not only our school but the community in which we live. We produce a weekly newspaper that is distributed in our school district and throughout our community. My students are learning the importance of professional journalism, but the lack of supplies we have limit our ability to cover the facts.

With digital voice recorders, my students can focus on proper journalism etiquette. The can make appropriate eye contact and learn to use correct short hand note-taking skills. They can use the technology of the resources learned in high school, in college and continue with that knowledge for the rest of their lives.

Your help will ensure that my students are able to provide the most accurate information to our school and community. You will make it possible for my students to learn the importance of technology in the field of journalism.
