My Students

Remember the challenges you faced in school when it came to math? Math concepts are difficult for students to conquer without the help of manipulatives. In Kindergarten, we must build a strong mathematical foundation for our students so that they can be successful in the upcoming years.

My students are active and curious.

Many of them come from homes that do not provide them with materials that help them learn about the world around them. School is the only place where they have the right toys or manipulatives to aid in their learning. These children learn best by playing and working together in centers. These activities motivate the students, as well as keeping them engaged.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of math materials, such as a bug sorting games, puzzles that teach patterns, shapes, counting and addition, and interactive software for our Promethean board. These materials can be used with the whole group, as well as in centers. The students will be able to play with the materials and learn without even realizing it. These materials will make learning fun and meaningful for the students. Therefore, they will be able to learn the foundational skills they need for further learning.

This project is important because children learn best with they are having fun.

If you can keep them motivated and wanting to learn, they will. I believe that these materials will allow me to instill my students with the mathematical skills they need to be successful as they get older.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
