My Students

"Now class we are going to open our books and read how the Scientific Process works".....I can already see my students nodding away to sleep, and putting themselves in a state of confusion. What students are lacking in school today is not relevance but rather engagement.

Inclusion classrooms have been praised for mainstreaming and helping those students with special learning needs.

Teaching in an inclusion environment is positive and rewarding for students of all types and abilities. My inclusion classroom is a very diverse learning environment. Students range from Pre K- middle school range learning levels. Each learn differently and each require certain needs and attention to make their learning successful.

My Project

The science activity tubs and Hot Dots will contribute many positive attributes to the classroom. Not only will they be able to provide multilevel instruction in an inclusive classroom, but they will be able to understand, explain, discuss, and reinforce the hows? and whys? of the science process. The activity tubs and Hot Dots will help me to provide the necessary materials to teach new material, review basic skills, and support learning from initial explorations to mastery levels. Furthermore, these resources provides academic and social benefits. They will become more efficient, and active learners. Not to mention these resources allow me to be able to provide a variety of methods to increase students' involvement and participation.

By donating to this project my students will be meeting National Science Standards in a hands on way that will make difficult science concepts easy to grasp!

In all, children learn by doing. Young children learn best when they are able to make real life connections and apply the skills they are learning in the classroom.
