My Students

My students are kids! Kids love to move! Sitting still in the classroom is so old school.

My students are creative, movement seeking, amazing people.

They love to dance when we turn on fun music! They love brain breaks too. But most of all they love to move. They play sports and enjoy being outside in beautiful Colorado. Why not let them move in the classroom too?

My Project

How is it that something as basic as movement could impact learning? The answer is quite simple. Movement acts as a generator to the brain and the brain is involved in all learning. Kids who need to move will move no matter what! In a traditional classroom that may look like tipping chairs, constant walking around, frequent restroom trips. All things that are not conducive to their learning. Why not incorporate it? That is my vision for my classroom!

I currently have transformed my classroom into a flexible learning space.

OUR flexible learning space. We share the space together like a family. I allow kids to move to places where they are comfortable to learn. It has impacted my kids in such a positive way! I have fully funded this on my own. So now I am asking for help. I have a few students who just need to wiggle. They would benefit so much from these Hokki stools.
