My Students

Help our students learn lifelong eating habits. Currently they eat mostly junk food which does not allow them to focus academically.

Twenty nine percent of our student population receives free and reduced lunch.

We have a large Hmong population and an increasing Hispanic population. Additionally, we live in Wisconsin which has one of the highest rates of obesity. FEED USA can help our students develop lifelong good eating habits. Some of our minority population has begun to participate in after school activities such as our oral history program. However, they are always famished and we need to provide them with healthy snacks.

My Project

My students need a two refrigerators to store healthy breakfast foods and healthy snacks so they can become academically focused. We are requesting two compact refrigerators. We will keep these refrigerators in our classroom. We will use these to refrigerate yogurt, cheese sticks, carrots and other healthy snacks for students to eat through out the day. We will educate students on the value of eating healthy foods and how it affects their ability to learn.

It must be incredibly difficult for a child to sit in a classroom and focus on the Boston Massacre or the Declaration of Independence when they can only think about how hungry they feel.

This FEED USA project can have life altering consequences for students.
