My students need hands-on technology to help them become innovators and global leaders! This includes an iPad mini, small robots, coding materials, circuits, and more.
First comes imagination. Then comes creativity. Then there is innovation. With these STEM resources, students will be solving problems, asking questions, taking risks, giving feedback, collaborating, tinkering, and thinking of design. Help us level the playing field and get them these resources!
We are a community school that has a full-time nurse, a weekend food program that serves about 80 students, free breakfast for all students, and a visiting dental program.
It truly takes a village to raise up a child and we strive to be a big part of that village.
Our students are creative, loving, and talented. They come from a diverse background. We have about 580 students.
My Project
Students will be able to program a variety of devices using code and circuits. This technology will be used by more than 500 students on a weekly or monthly basis so that they may create, design, and build. We have planned a STEM Club and and after-school robotics club. Classes also use the makerspace in the media center during regular library visits and at other times.
These materials will help students understand how math and science work together in our everyday lives. Students will be able to make changes to their code to immediately see different results. Students will be able to use the iPad to program some of the kits, but there are also dozens of coding apps that will enhance this program. Students will also use the iPad to create videos to share their projects with others.
This project will help us meet curriculum objectives concerning Math, Information and Technology Skills, and Science.
By having access to these coding resources, our students will improve in their communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
They are tomorrow's engineers, inventors, and entrepreneurs. We want to share their creations with others through the Global Cardboard Challenge, at our school carnival in the spring, and through social media. Our students will be able to connect with other groups from across the world.
