My students need games to play in our gifted class. Games are great ways to get students involved with strategy and problem solving skills.

My Students

Many of my lower income students do not have games to play at home. Games teach children more than just winning and losing. They teach children that good competition is good for you. Games teach sportsmanship and help with learning in a fun and exciting way.

These awesome gifted students come to our Title I school ready to tackle most anything.

Most of my students are in the free lunch program and have very little funds for games at home. Games are used not only for reward days in my classroom but also for learning.

My Project

Games in the classroom provide a way for students to be competitive and use their brains without taking tests! Games in the classroom keep the learner involved with the outcome of the play. The children love it and most of the time do not realize that they are learning life skills in the interactive play.

Setting up a new classroom with my gifted students should not be a handicapped situation because of lack of funds or materials.

My goal this summer is to find ways to have the materials, games, and technology that are in the other gifted classrooms in our school. My students will need several games to provide the necessary practice and fun working their brains while having a great time.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
