Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each and every day my students come to school eager to learn. I try to create daily activities that encourage student growth and learning.
I teach in a title 1 school, and all the students here receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students come from low income families. They have such a passion for learning and they are truly wonderful kids. Even the ones who do not have the best home lives come to school eager to learn each day, and they are such a joy to be around. My students love to read and write, and I love to give my students opportunities to use their imaginations.
My Project
My students will be able to use these materials(sequence and write story tiles, building fluency card bank, and readers' theater script boxes) to become better readers and better writers. With these materials my students will be able to learn to read with expression and carry that over into their writing. I believe that if my students are able to read fluently with expression and annotation it will carry over into their writing and help it come to life. These materials will also help my students who are in the beginning stage of writing by giving them prompts and ideas to help make the writing process a bit easier for them.
This project will allow my students to have the opportunity to became better readers and better authors.
I believe for my students to become great authors, they first need to be great readers.
