Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are unstoppable learning stamina. I teach kindergarten and currently am teaching frogs as part of their science/amphibian curriculum. The school in which I teach is currently a SINI school. I believe that differentiated instruction is the way to reach my children and having them observe the frog life cycle in the classroom as opposed to just seeing it in books and video will highly enhance their learning experience.

After doing a tally on class pets, frogs were not mentioned. The children discussed a number of pet options for the classroom and came up with frogs. The issue I was having with the class purchasing the supplies is that some of the families would not be able to financially help in the process. There is also a lack in subject books...frogs happen to be one of them.

Needed would be the frog eggs so the children could see hands on how the eggs transform into frogs...and I had asked for eggs and dwarf frogs so we could use the frogs as a comparison to what the eggs would eventually look like. All subjects have to coincide with literacy and it would be a really nice gift for the children to have a copy of a book on the topic either it be fiction or non-fiction. The children enjoy reading and some have admitted to not having books in their homes.

Your generosity would teach my children that their learning and growth in education is not only important to them their teacher but generally to the community they are a part of.
