This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many people underestimate the learning potential kids' posses at an early age. As a teacher I want to expose my students early on to a variety of tools, technologies and resources. I believe my 4 to 5 year old students are capable of retaining and utilizing a wide range of information.

Many of my students come from low-income families of Hispanic background.

When I first started to teach my students, they lacked motivation and had a short attention span. However, I have seen my students grow and I now see them more engaged in the classroom. I now see self-motivated students full of potential.

My Project

Currently, I am using hand lenses around the classroom as one of my main science tools to investigate and have a closer look at different objects. Having a digital microscope will allow my students to discover various aspects of objects they haven't seen before. This tool will be extremely beneficial for my students since it can easily be integrated to different themes covered in class. For example: we can observe bugs, different types of animal skins, plant parts, etc.

Through this amazing tool my students will be exposed simultaneously to a combination of science and technology.

As a teacher I want to prepare my students from early on to the importance technology plays in our society and also how tools can be utilize to examine our environment.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
