Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"œThe times they are a-changing." Bob Dylan. My goal is to prepare students for their future so that they will not only contribute to it, they will lead and define it.

My students are third grade students that know more about the technology in their homes than their parents.

My students get excited about technology integration and the internet. They also need extra support at home and would greatly benefit from podcasts and instructional videos to reinforce learning.

My Project

With the camcorder students will record lessons, observations, readers theater skits and reading reflections and edit them, using video making software. This will give them the opportunity to take ownership of their learning and tutor peers at the same time.

With the use of video creation in the classroom, we can get away from teacher-led classrooms and create classrooms that are learner-centered, preparing our students not only to be digitally savvy, but leveraging these technologies to help them create, communicate, connect and collaborate to prepare them to be contributing citizens to their future.
