My Students
Our library is the heart of the school. Students love to hangout before school and at lunch either playing games, chatting on our super comfortable purple sofa, or just browsing through the shelves. The library is a place of community and fun. In our library, students get the opportunity to not only checkout school resources but share and collaborate their own ideas with others.
Our library serves 650 students in grades 6th-8th and 70 staff members.
They all are very unique and something special to our school family. We are very lucky that our students and staff love to interact and participate in what the library has to offer. It makes each day exciting and new. We hope that students leave middle school with a love for the library and its offerings.
My Project
In the library, students often come in to work on projects or finish tests. They rarely choose to sit at one of our many tables but instead fight to sit on our couch (that only seats 2!) or choose to sprawl out on the floor.
I would love to give our students options on where they sit.
Students deserve to choose what type of seat is best for them. By giving them the yoga balls and cushions they are able to move and wiggle in a way that allows them to focus. We very much need alternative seating options in our library.
