My Students

I want to empower my students to excel in all aspects of education and life. One way to do that is to teach them a variety of ways to understand Financial Literacy and how to use it now and in their futures.

I have a wonderful group of students who love to learn.

I teach 5th grade gifted students who all have many talents. I have a diverse class of students with different strengths and learning styles. The one thing that my students have in common is that they are academically advanced and they thrive when being challenged. As their teacher, I am always trying to find advanced resources and technology to increase their level of learning and expertise. We have some use of computers in a computer lab, once a week, but we really need more access to technology on a daily basis. My students' excitement for learning is amazing. The use of Chrome books, to teach Financial Literacy, would help them soar to higher academic levels now and in their futures.

My Project

It is very important to develop financial literacy in all of our students. By engaging the students in activities that use the fundamentals of finance, our students will be better prepared for their futures! Some of the ways that I will teach financial literacy is by showing them how to Create their own Country, how to follow the Stock Market, as well as to create Financial Travel Teams. By using the Chrome books we could research the stock market and learn to buy, sell, and follow stocks over a two month period of time. The Financial Travel Teams will teach them how to plan a trip across the United States using a financial budget. The students will learn how to budget their money for the price of hotels, gas, food, car rental, tourist attractions, and much more. For the Create A Country activity, the students will learn about all of the financial aspects of running a country's economy and make their own financial decisions about their created country.

Our students are our future and we can help create financial leaders who will make our world a better place.

By combining both technology and financial literacy together, we will help to provide a great academic future for our students. Your donation would truly help the students to excel in all of the fundamentals of finance. By having the students work together collaboratively with these fun, financial literacy projects, we will inspire and help the students develop into future leaders!
