Environmental Literacy Through Student Writing

My students need chart paper, pencils, highlighters, and sentence strips for our word wall and vocabulary building. We will also use the chart paper for graphing in math.

My Students

In my classroom, we are very active all day long. We will use our sentence strips and chart paper to write stories, graph what we like the most, tell about our day and what what we will be doing during the day. We will learn about letters and sounds as we write words and sound them out.

My students are at risk students who love to talk about what they are doing at home and at school.

They love to learn about new things that interest them. This will allow me to have kids talk about their interest, me write about their interest while teaching about letter sounds and letters. They love to write and learn. They love to be active. They love to share what they are learning about.

My Project

We will write about what we are learning and learning what we write. We will circle letters that make certain sounds, letters with certain names, and circle words. We will sound out words and write them. We will learn to read using the chart stories that we have written.

We will be able to write our language experience stories, graph our math problems and learn to count.

We will be able to have a word wall in our classroom with words of the kids choosing. They will be able to control my word wall and learning in my classroom.
