My students need paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils and caddies to have organized art materials for updating the student board and to enhance classroom lessons.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Everyday students begin the day with CREW which promotes a positive classroom community. Students participate in daily greetings, readings and activities.
Students in my classroom work diligently during core subject lessons.
Although students are vested in their education they could benefit from having more creativity incorporated in their learning. This classroom is very enthusiastic when completing arts and crafts activities but can not regularly participate due to lack of resources.
My Project
Students need various types and colors of paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, glue and supply caddies to complete projects that accompany classroom work on the student bulletin board. The student board is changed regularly with either a holiday or literature theme.
These materials will promote "Empowering Students Through Art" by allowing them to show their interpretation of their learning through arts and crafts. In addition to the classroom board students will use the materials to enhance core lessons and promote artistic creativity during free time. Having art supplies readily available will encourage students to incorporate visual literacy in their learning.
Project donations will make students' lives better by allowing them to showcase their work through art.
In turn students will become more "well rounded" as learners and have the capability to express themselves in a variety of ways.
