My Students

Eek! Mice! Well, these mice would be a welcome site in our school's computer lab. Our old laptop computers are struggling to keep up with the constant use by 400 students every day. The track pads do not work the way they used to and it would be great to give each one a working hand-held mouse.

I teach at a very successful urban charter school that houses 400 Kindergarten through eighth grade students.

We have a small computer lab with 25 computers/laptops that is shared among all 400 students. On a good day, 20 of those 25 computers are operating as they should. Often the reason the laptops are out of commission is because the track pads on them are not functioning correctly. The students take a standardized test on these computers three times each year. Imagine how difficult it must be if the track pad stops working while in the middle of the test!

My Project

I am requesting fifteen optical mice for use in our school's computer lab. The mice will be used on the laptops so that the students no longer have to worry about whether or not their track pad will stop working. The mice will offer a reduction of stress while the students take their tri-yearly standardized tests as well as while they are working on other projects for their classes.

With your help, the 400 students at my school will have the ability to work in the computer lab without having to worry about the track pad on their laptop.
