My Students

Students want to learn but sometimes they don't always remember something important the first time. As a teacher it is important to give them another opportunity to learn and understand the information.

This will be the first year teaching sixth grade.

Our school is made up of two small farming communities. The students come from a variety of different backgrounds but we come together to learn and grow every day. Students all learn in many different ways just like how they come from many different places. Many students learn better with visually. They rely on these visual references to enhance their learning everyday.

My Project

This project is for an easel, paper, and markers to make anchor charts. Anchor charts can be posted anywhere in the classroom and make great reminders for students. Anchor charts improve students' ability to recall information and provide struggling students with much needed assistance. Great habits can be formed by using anchor charts that guide and lead the students.

Without an easel and the other materials, it is hard to get the students involved in anchor charts.

This easel will be easily moved to the location where we are meeting as a group. Student input into anchor charts helps students retain the important information better than if a teacher just writes it. I know that my students will become better readers if I can integrate more student-driven anchor charts into my classroom.
