We are an at-risk population that involves three and four year old children.

Every child in my classroom is unique, curious, inquisitive, and a spark of energy always wanting to learn new things. The school we attend is a elementary school in a predominantly low income city that is pre-k through fifth grade.

My Project

We are requesting materials to help broaden our knowledge in the world of language. Our data shows that majority of the class is struggling in letter recognition and phonological awareness (letter sound matching/rhyming). We also have a house area for language development that has a table and chair set that is falling apart and can be unsafe for little ones to sit on. So please help us if you can :)

This project is important to myself and my class to help with the precursors of reading readiness skills.

Children who do not develop letter recognition or phonological development will lack the potential to become successful readers later in their educational life. Language Arts is the most important domain for all children to learn!
