Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy playing outdoor activities such as soccer, football, basketball, and kickball. Unfortunately we do not have a lot of equipment to keep them involved in these activities. We would like to have some fitness equipment to stay active and have fun outdoors.

My students are 6th graders in a Texas public charter school.

The school serves at-risk low SES students. The school is located in a neighborhood that provides educational opportunities to the community as well as the youth. Many of the students lack the rich learning opportunities provided or available to students of affluent families.

My Project

My students enjoy to participate in outdoor activities. Being able to have fitness equipment would enable all the students to become more active outdoors and have fun. It would also allow students to learn how to play a variety of organized games and be team players.

I feel that the project will allow students opportunities to learn how to play cooperatively and be active by participating in sport games.

The fitness would also allow students to stay active and healthy for many years to come.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
