My Students

"All the world's a stage," is a well-known quote from the famous playwright, William Shakespeare. This is a quote I will be drilling into the heads of my students as we begin a new drama program, but we need furniture and props to make the program happen!

Our school is an open-enrollment charter school whose mission is to prepare all of its students to excel in a rigorous 4 year college or university.

97% of its students receive free or reduced-price lunch, 12% have special needs, and 10% are homeless. Despite these obstacles, this school is home to some of the sweetest, hard-working and most beautiful children to ever grace this planet.

My Project

I will be implementing a drama program for the K-5 students. As this program is brand new, I am building the entire wardrobe and prop boxes from scratch. I need a significant number of items to create a respectable dramatic play center. The puppet show theater, as well as the other props, will be a wonderful start to the drama program.

Research shows the tremendous benefit drama education has on children.

Not only does it promote self-confidence, imagination, empathy, collaboration and communication, it's downright fun! Please help these beautiful students learn, and have fun while doing so.
