Disney: An Apple iPad a Day Will Help Us Learn in New Ways!
My students need an Apple iPad and Smart Cover to learn about current environmental issues in order to create a monthly news program to inform their school community.
Our project involves planning and implementing a public service project. The iPad will allow the students to prepare presentations and make films to share with our entire student body. We strive to call our school to action to help make our environment a beautiful and safe place to live!
My students are AMAZING and come from diverse backgrounds.
We are a International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program school in an urban setting where 79% of our students qualify for a free and reduced price lunch rate. Despite the obstacles we may face, we strive to make our class a place where all feel welcome, challenged and safe. They are the "movers, shakers and leaders" of tomorrow and we work each day to unlock their creative potential!
My Project
We are so excited to begin encouraging our school campus to "think green" and do their part to help make our environment the healthiest it can be! The iPad that we are requesting will help the students work hands-on to develop and implement the project. They will use it to do research, as well as plan an audio-video presentation to introduce the school to the most pressing environmental issues of our time.
Using the iPad to assist them in the project will enable them to learn how to use technology effectively.
It will expand their learning experience, both inside and outside the classroom, as they become hands-on learners. Thank you for helping us achieve our goals!
