Although we are a high performing school, we are very poor in our technology. Last year, we had three computers in our classroom and by the last week of school, 2 of them stopped working and were unable to be repaired.
My students love to work on the computer.
There are so many learning games and informational websites that I challenge my students to use throughout the year. My students are excited kindergarteners who are always looking for something new and fun! I want to give them that opportunity.
My Project
I am requesting a laptop for my classroom to serve in several different capacities. I would like to allow my students the opportunity to work on a computer that is portable so that they aren't confined to one area of the classroom. I would also like to be able to hook the computer up to a projector and if it can be moved around, it will be more easily used. The last way a laptop would be helpful in our room is that I would be able to use it in assessing my students while we sit in a section of the room where other students can't distract us.
I think my project is important because our school has not been guaranteed any money to purchase technology.
It's "in the works", but we have no idea if it will happen this year. I am desperate to give my students access to more than one computer in their classroom.
