My Students
Children use their imagination in many ways, why not bring their imagination into art.
I teach at an urban Title One school with a large population of Hispanic families as well as families who receive free lunches.
With the economy the way it is, many of my families can't afford to help out in the classroom as they have in the past. Also school districts, like mine, are making major cuts in order to keep learning going.
My Project
My students need many craft materials for projects in my class. These projects foster creativity and imagination with my students. I want to be able to connect the learning I received myself over the summer with using art in the classroom with my students. My students will be using the materials to create pieces of art or other projects. These projects are connected to learning in the classroom through many pieces of literature and learning about other cultures. Your donations will be helping to purchase craft items such as colored chalk, water color paper, pipe cleaners, wiggly eyes, textured paper, paper shaped as people, and much more.
With your donation, you will be putting the much needed materials into a young child's hands, allowing them to create and learn.
You may be creating a young artist that one day will become a lifelong learner.
